Tahlee & Cam

How did you and your partner meet?

We met when we were much younger through mutual friends, yet it wasn’t until we both moved home from living overseas in our mid twenties when we really got to know each other.

How did you or partner propose?

Cam proposed on a weekend away in Mudgee. I planned the trip so I wasn't at all suspicious a proposal was on the cards. Cam had actually purchased the ring 6 months prior and hid it at home because he wanted to wait and not pop the question during lockdown. We had been out to the wineries that day and when we got back to our AirBnB I ran myself a bath and Cam came in with champagne, he didn’t even ask he just sat on the floor next to the bath and hugged me with whilst crying and holding the box in my face.

Why did you choose to have your wedding at Terrara House?

When we envisioned our wedding day we wanted it to feel like a mini holiday, a few nights away with our nearest and dearest so we could spend quality time with everyone. We had always come down to the South Coast for weekends away so it was an obvious choice to find a spot down there. We came across Terrara House on WedShed, and the same weekend we enquired a photographer friend of ours Benedict Sutton had recently shot a wedding there. We fell in love with the property through the photos and when we asked him what it was like, he said “just book it you will not regret it”. The best advice we have ever received!

Did you have a theme for your wedding?

Classic

What was your menu on the night?

We went through Bumpy Road catering who served our canapes after the ceremony and a sit down, shared style dinner for reception. Our guests are still raving about how good the food was.

Canapes

Sundried tomato, pesto arancini
Satay chicken skewers
Mini quiche onion, brie and thyme

Entree

Slow cooked pork belly

Mains

Grilled Salmon
BBQ lamb shoulder

Sides

Roasted root vegetables
Rocket, parmesan, pine nut, pear salad
Trio of tomatoes, basil, bocconcini

Dessert

White chocolate mud cake supplied by Delaneys Cakes

What was your favourite part of your ceremony?

Would have to be having Biscuit, our golden retriever, as the ring bearer. We couldn’t have imagined our day without him.

What did you love about your reception?

The marquee was magical, all the fairy lights lit up and the stunning view of the estate in the background. The speeches were easily the highlight of the night for us.

How many people attended your wedding?

77 guests

What was your favourite location in Terrara House & The Estate and why?

Such a hard decision as there are so many beautiful parts of Terrara. The Love Garden is like no other ceremony spot, it was raining during the day of our wedding yet we were so determined to still have our ceremony there and i’m so glad we went through with it.  Also the Salon, such a stunning spot to spend with my closest girlfriends during the morning of.

Did you plan a post wedding ‘honeymoon’ celebration and if so, what experience did you plan?

We had planned to go to South Australia after the wedding, yet Covid got in the way so we spent the remaining week down on the South Coast at Ulladulla and Jamberoo relaxing and reminiscing.

What is your advice for any future couples planning their wedding?

Not to stress over the little things, the day goes so quick and there is so much to enjoy. Everyone says your wedding day is the best day of your life and we were both so skeptical about this statement, yet it was such a fun filled, emotional day that we would do it again in a heartbeat. And if you’re staying at Terrara, make sure you book the 3 nights!
