Bebe & Paddy

How did you and your partner meet?

Bebe was working at a café in Paddington and Paddy came in. Bebe served Paddy and they got chatting and went on a few dates after that. Less than 1 year later we moved to San Diego together.

How did you or partner propose?

It was the middle of lockdown in Sydney in 2021. We went on a picnic at Milk Beach in front of Sydney harbour. Paddy hid the ring in the picnic basket. While Bebe stood up to watch the dolphins which were swimming past Paddy pulled the ring out and got on one knee.

Why did you choose to have your wedding at Terrara House?

We loved the idea of a destination wedding not too far from Sydney. We love the landscape of the South Coast; beautiful green paddocks which meet the sea. As soon as we drove through the gates, we knew it was the venue for us.

Did you have a theme for your wedding?

Our theme was a touch of Italian to honour Bebe’s heritage. We had homemade limoncello made by Bebe’s Nonna as the bonbonniere. We had an Italian menu, Aperol and Campari spritz and an Italian red.

What was your menu on the night?

We had the amazing Orchard Catering do the wedding and recovery. Roaming canapes post ceremony included beetroot arancini balls, scallops, and trout on betel leaf. For the reception we had a 2-course meal. The primi was prawns and burrata. Our secondi were slow cooked lamb and salmon. This was paired with delicious sides – carrot, polenta and brussell sprouts.

The recovery was pig on the spit with bread rolls and sides.

What was your favourite part of your ceremony?

Paddy: seeing Bebe walk down the aisle in the love garden was majestic.
Bebe: Looking at all our closest friends and family scattered around the beautiful love garden. We surprised our guests with a saxophonist to follow us down the aisle to our favourite song – such a good vibe!

What did you love about your reception?

The marquee and tables were beautiful with the Amalfi bar range, flowers by Ivy Lane and stationery from Anomy designs. The real star of the show was Sam Weiss as DJ and saxophonist which made for an amazing dance floor. The cherry on top was the late night bite - personalised cheeseburgers from McDonalds.

How many people attended your wedding?

We had 134 guests.

What was your favourite location in Terrara House & The Estate and why?

Paddy: The love garden, the feeling there during the ceremony was just magical.
Bebe: Honestly, it’s so hard to pick one spot! I loved the whole estate. It was so beautiful staying in there for 3 nights with family, groomsman and bridesmaid. The bridesmaid salon is divine as are the beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms in the house.

Did you plan a post wedding ‘honeymoon’ celebration and if so, what experience did you plan?

We live in Tokyo so we flew back to Japan and did a few minimoons, our favourite one being Japans version of Hawaii – Ishigaki. We have a bigger trip planned to Italy next year which we will call our honeymoon.

What is your advice for any future couples planning their wedding?

Bebe: Plan as much as you can early on so you can let your hair down and soak up love and good times.
Paddy: Do a recovery, the night goes so quickly that you will want to catch up with people again the next day.
